The Frankfort Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Site in collaboration with the Kentucky Heritage Council, the state historic preservation office, will give special tours and educational talks about the history of the Civil War forts in the Leslie W. Morris Park at Fort Hill as well as the two other historic sites there using artifacts dug from various sites on the park by previous archaeological digs. Using these artifacts to demonstrate how archaeology can be a tool to inform and confirm human events and occupation. Special tours to the previously dug sites and the small museum will be given as well as educational talks by the Heritage Council staff about the importance and use of archaeology and scientific study to inform us about future archeology projects within the park.
