Colonel William Prescott, famous for his leadership during the Battle of Bunker Hill and Prudence Wright, who captured a British spy in Pepperell in 1775, are part of Pepperell’s rich colonial past.  The Pepperell Covered Bridge is one of only three working covered bridges in Massachusetts.  See images from our historic cemeteries including gravestones from the colonial era.  Learn about our 1726 grist mill, shoe mills, Pepperell Springs’ water, 150 years of paper mills and the Worcester and Nashua Railroad, which fueled Pepperell’s growth and prosperity.
