The Pueblo Grande Museum 85th Anniversary Celebration “Harvesting Our History”, reception and dinner will be hosted by the Pueblo Grande Museum Auxiliary on Saturday, October 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Museum. Tickets to this special celebration event are $90.00 per person and $800.00 per table of 10. The event will celebrate the Museum for its role in preserving the Pueblo Grande site, and the archaeological treasures of the City of Phoenix. Over the past 85 years, the Museum has been dedicated to enhancing the understanding of American Indian cultures and inhabitants of the Southwest past and present.
The evening will begin with a reception at 6 p.m. and include a presentation on the history of the Museum, a dinner of Southwest flavors, and entertainment. During the evening, guests will have an opportunity to participate in a silent auction of items such as: art work, gift certificates from local restaurants and attractions, and overnight tours. The silent auction, event tickets, and all other contributions will benefit the Museum and its continued work in preservation, conservation, and education, as supported by the mission of the Auxiliary.
Pueblo Grande Museum and Archaeological Park has been operated by the City of Phoenix as a Section of the Parks and Recreation Department since 1929. The Museum, a National Historic Landmark, is located on a 1,000 year old archaeological site, and houses one of the last remaining platform mounds in the Salt River Valley.
