As an attendee, you will receive the following during the workshop: 

• a copy of Intrigue of the Past: A Teacher's Activity Guide for Fourth Through Seventh Grades with 28 exciting lessons you can start using immediately
• presentations by archaeologists and facilitators experienced in using archaeology with elementary and secondary students
• hands-on guidance through lessons which include the process of archaeology and issues in preservation of archaeological resources
• instruction on experiential techniques
• many hands-on activities and instruction on classroom materials

In addition to interdisciplinary lessons in social studies, math, science, art, communication and language, participants will be provided means to increase environmental awareness, higher level thinking skills, stewardship values and multicultural appreciation.

Workshop will include Saturday and Sunday sessions, from 8am to 4pm. Included in the workshop will be a field trip to an archaeological site.

Light snacks/water will be provided for the Saturday/Sunday classes

Tuition  
Tuition for the program is $100 for non-members and $75 for SDAC and KIIC members. Scholarships in the amount of $25 are available for educators teaching in the Escondido, Poway, San Diego and San Pasqual Union School Districts.
