Ellen and Charles S. La Follette Lectures
Long time supporters of the AIA, Charles and Ellen La Follette became involved because of their daughter, Laetitia La Follette, who is Professor of Art History at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. The Institute invited Charles La Follette to join the Governing Board in 1983 as a General Trustee. A past chair of the Development Committee, he currently serves on the Development, Finance and Investment committees. He was chair of the successful NEH Challenge Grant Campaign (1983-1986) and he currently chairs the Endowment Campaign Committee. The Institute greatly appreciates the time and service that La Follette has devoted through his leadership and efforts in fundraising.
Two La Follette lectures are held annually. One is designated for the San Francisco Society and the other is offered first to the Western Massachusetts Society.
The La Follette Lecturers are chosen by the Lecture Program Committee of the AIA.
The Site Preservation Program is funding the San Bartolo Mural Project thanks to a special gala pledge drive.
