AIA Lecturer: Christine Hastorf

Christine Hastorf is Professor with the Department of Anthropology at the University of California at Berkeley. She is also the Director of the McCown Archeobotany Laboratory and South American Archaeology Curator of the P.A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology at UC Berkley. She received her degrees from Stanford University (B.A.) and UCLA (M.A. and Ph.D.). Her research interests are the archaeology of political structures and social relations, paleobotany and macrobotanical remains, food and foodways, prehistoric agricultural systems, and the Andean Region of South America. Professor Hastorf has received numerous awards for her work, and has published extensively.
