Abstract: Princes of Homeric Age

Elites of the Iron Age cultural groups demonstrate high level of resemblance across the vast area of communication network which during Bronze and Iron Age spreads almost between the Baltic Sea and. Since the only sources of data from the Central Europe are figural representations on different items of material culture and burial record, we will try to relate that information to comparative material and well-known historical and mythological structures of Greeks and Etruscans. The lecture will show to what extent these “barbarian” elites correspond to ideology of the ruling class of the Mediterranean cultures.
