The Annual Meeting is hitting the road and heading to the French Quarter. Join us in New Orleans, Louisiana as we take to Canal Street offering attendees two contemporary and ideally located hotels to enjoy their evenings at and packed academic programs and events to fill their days. The Sheraton New Orleans Hotel is located at 500 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70130. The Sheraton is the headquarter hotel of the AM. It will host the majority of the conference including academic sessions and committee/interest group meetings as well as the Exhibit Hall, AM registration, and special events. The New Orleans Marriott hotel will offer a smaller inventory of rooms for our Annual Meeting attendees and will host some session, committee/interest group meetings, as well as evening receptions. The Marriott is located a stone's throw away from the Sheraton, directly across the street at 555 Canal St, New Orleans, LA 70130.
Both properties will offer AM attendees a discounted hotel rate of $159 USD per night, plus taxes and includes complimentary in room High Speed Internet. You will be able to begin booking rooms at the discounted rates in late August, 2014. Early Bird Discounted Registration for the AM will also open at that time.
The 2015 AM will be held from January 8-11 and the academic program will begin on January 9 at 8:30 a.m. and end Sunday, January 11 at 11:30 a.m.

The AIA and APA Joint Annual Meeting (AM) brings together professional and vocational archaeologists and classicists from around the world to share the latest developments from the field. This well-attended conference is the largest and oldest established meeting of classical scholars and archaeologists in North America.
The AM has grown tremendously over the past decade not only in attendance, but also in the scope of papers presented, demographic of attendees, and focus on professional development, cultural heritage management, new technologies and other topics of critical importance to the field. Each January more than 3,000 attendees from over 30 countries and nearly every state in the union attend this Joint Annual Meeting, allowing for the exchange of knowledge and ideas between top professionals in the field, post-doctoral, graduate, and undergraduate students, as well as archaeology enthusiasts, ARCHAEOLOGY magazine subscribers, and AIA local society members. The Archaeological Institute of America (AIA)
The AIA is North America's oldest and largest organization devoted to the world of archaeology. The nonprofit institute was founded in 1879 and today the AIA has over 220,000 subscribing members and 109 Local Societies in the United States, Canada, and overseas. The American Journal of Archaeology is one of the world's most distinguished and widely distributed peerreviewed archaeological journals. It was founded in 1885 and is a leader in ground-breaking articles on archaeology and thoughtful book and museum exhibition reviews. Circulation reaches more than 50 countries. Our award-winning popular magazine, ARCHAEOLOGY (available on newsstands and in bookstores nation-wide), has been committed to bringing the excitement of archaeological discovery to a popular audience for over 60 years. The AIA has further promoted archaeological studies by founding research centers and schools in seven countries, including the American School of Classical Studies at Athens, the School of Classical Studies at the American Academy in Rome, the American Schools of Oriental Research, and others.
American Philological Association (APA)
Founded in 1869 by "professors, friends, and patrons of linguistic science," the APA is the principal learned society in North America for the study of ancient Greek and Roman languages, literatures, and civilizations. While the majority of its members are university and college Classics teachers, members also include scholars in other disciplines, primary and secondary school teachers,and interested lay people. The AIA and APA Joint Annual Meeting is the meeting of the year for anyone interested in Classical Antiquity.
Professional and student Members of the AIA, along with Corresponding Members, are the core of the Institute. Membership is required to apply for fellowships and grants, utilize the placement service, and present at the Annual Meeting. The AIA continues to look for ways to help support the archaeological community.
AIA Members have created Interest Groups focusing on specific issues and topics in archaeology. These groups provide a forum for discussion among students and scholars. The IGs also meet each year at our Annual Meeting and often propose papers and sessions to the Program Committee.
