AIA-Dayton Society and SunWatch Indian Village and Archaeological Park Host Succesful National Archaeology Day Event

The AIA's Dayton Society hosted the 2nd National Archaeology Day at SunWatch Indian Village and Archaeological Park in Dayton, Ohio on October 20, 2012. Activities included artifact identification, tool discussions, and an atlatl demonstration and contest. American Indian drum group Chaske Hotain also played and shared their songs with visitors while museum staff and volunteers shared the archaeology and history of SunWatch. In total, 14 volunteers shared the afternoon with 126 visitors.
Volunteers are needed to monitor the translations of the International Archaeology Day webpage.
After two years of great success, National Archaeology Day will change to International Archaeology Day for 2013.
The Friends of the Office of State Archaeology in Connecticut acted as a participating partner in National Archaeology Day by sponsoring an Archaeology Fair.
