Two Eagle Interpretive Trail Dedication at Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Site
December 10, 2012
Bighorn Canyon hosted a dedication ceremony for the Two Eagles Interpretive Trail, which opened on National Archaeology Day. The interpretive trail incorporates the results of multi-year archeological field school projects with the focus on tipi rings. Students from the University of Memphis, Indiana University, St. Cloud State University, Northwest College, and Little Bighorn College have helped to record more than 140 tipi rings at this site.
Volunteers are needed to monitor the translations of the International Archaeology Day webpage.
After two years of great success, National Archaeology Day will change to International Archaeology Day for 2013.
The Friends of the Office of State Archaeology in Connecticut acted as a participating partner in National Archaeology Day by sponsoring an Archaeology Fair.
