15th Annual South Central Historical Archaeology Conference

On October 5th, the Louisiana State University Rural Life Museum and the Louisiana Archaeological Society came together to co-sponsor an event for International Archaeology month. The Rural Life Museum played host to the 15th Annual South Central Historical Archaeology Conference in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This celebration of local archaeology brought nearly 50 participants throughout the day who listened to talks on historical archaeology being conducted throughout the region.
University of Alaska Anchorage hosted International Archaeology Day on October 19th.
The Northeast Region of the Florida Public Archaeology Network hosted an Archaeology Bar Crawl through downtown St. Augustine in honor of International Archaeology Day.
The Commission to Preserve National Monuments celebrated the International Archaeology Day with a series of events titled "Cultural Memory, a Vanishing Treasure: Archaeological Heritage of BiH."
