We are pleased to offer the finest available trip to Cuba, combining an in-depth historical and cultural itinerary, Cuba’s best accommodations, and the leadership of archaeologist David Pendergast and guest expert Joseph Scarpaci, founder and Executive Director of The Center for the Study of Cuban Culture & Economy. Embark upon an enriching, people-to-people educational exchange program, exploring this island “crossroads of the Americas” from the eastern city of Baracoa to the western capital city of Havana. Visit five UNESCO World Heritage sites: 17th century Morro Castle, the historic centers of Camaguey and Cienfuegos; Trinidad, which is maintained as a living museum; and Havana, where you will spend four nights. Meet with local Cuban professionals, including anthropologists and museum curators, such as the Directors of the Taino Museum and Trinidad’s Archaeological Museum, and Adrian Garcia, who worked with Dr. Pendergast at the archaeological site of Los Buchillones; and get a first-hand look at traditional and modern performing arts.
