Join the President of the Archaeological Institute of America on this glorious, unique voyage to some of the most wonderful sites in the Mediterranean, cruising between the remarkable cities of Barcelona and Dubrovnik. Call first at the second largest of the Balearic Islands, Menorca, to discover its scenic main port, Mahon, and some of the island’s unusual prehistoric monuments. At Erice, Sicily, you will visit a beautifully preserved medieval town built on a promontory; and admire the magnificent Doric Greek temple at Segesta. Malta boasts fascinating prehistoric temples, such as Tarxien, as well as impressive medieval architecture in charming Valletta. Albania is home to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Butrint, a vast ancient city; and in Montenegro you will wander the streets, lanes, and town squares of Kotor, one of the most enchanting towns in all of Europe.
