2024 IAD Grant Recipients Announced


We’re pleased to announce the recipients of this year’s International Archaeology Day Grants! These grants help AIA Local Societies host events associated with International Archaeology Day 2024, celebrated on Saturday, October 19 this year, along with events throughout the month of October.

  • As part of the Midwest Archaeology Conference in Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Society ran a student workshop, “Classroom to Career: Strategies for Aspiring Archaeologists” on October 18

The Finger Lakes (Ithaca) Society    

The Nashville Society

The Nashville Society teamed up with the Nashville Parthenon to host International Archaeology Day at the Parthenon on October 19

The Princeton Society             

  • The Princeton Society held its “Color the Past” event at the Princeton Public Library on October 19

The Rochester Society           

The Atlanta Society   

  • The Atlanta Society joined with the Michal C. Carlos Museum at Emory University to host their DigIT! Archaeology Day celebration on October 19, 2024

The Central Texas (Austin) Society

The East Tennessee (Knoxville) Society       

The Gainesville Society

The Narragansett (Providence) Society       

The Niagara Peninsula Society

The Western Massachusetts Society

The Washington, DC Society

The Central Missouri (Columbia) Society   

  • The Central Missouri (Columbia) Society will run an Archaeology Day Fair as part of the I International Archaeology Day at Mizzou on November 10
