October 20, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT

Lawn downhill from UNB Student Union Building
Pacey Dr

AIA Society: New Brunswick

The UNB Anthropology Society, in conjunction with AIA New Brunswick Society, is holding a free experimental archaeology workshop. We invite AIA members and the public to come and try their hand at Flint Knapping: the art of making stone tools! Demonstrations will be running for the duration of the event so please stop by at any time. Attendees will have the opportunity to handle tools, stone, and attempt the skill for themselves. Leading the workshop is Anthropology Graduate Student Chris Brouillette. His Master’s work is on Palaeo-Indian stone tool use in Atlantic Canada and he will be happy to answer any questions regarding his research.

Safety is very important. Those wishing to participate should wear closed top shoes (like sneakers or hikers) and full-length pants. Dust masks, work gloves, and safety glasses will be provided, and must be worn to participate.

When placing events on your calendar using these buttons, please check that time zone displays correctly.
