I’m Halle Murphy, from Bendigo, and I go to LaTrobe University Melbourne.
In addition to being really interested in the history of the site and the experience I would get from the program I was excited to be able to live in Ireland for a month. I hope to gain a deeper understanding of Irish history and practical skills in fieldwork whilst I am here.
I have loved the experience of staying with a host family. The other participants in the program have also been very friendly and entertaining. My favorite activity so far has been opening up the new ‘sondage’ in Cutting 1. My favorite part of my experience so far has been the Irish humor both on the dig site and out socially.
