The National Arts Club, overlooking New York’s Gramercy Park, set the stage last night for a surprise dinner in honor of AIA Past President C. Brian Rose. Following his lively talk, Troy~Spanning Millennia, the lecture hall curtains were parted to reveal a dining room festooned with flowers. AIA patrons and members of the Archaeology Committee of the National Arts Club joined in an evening that featured a salute to Brian, including a toast to his many achievements while President of the Institute, and an impromptu movie quiz—those who know Brian will attest to his encyclopedic knowledge of classic movies—which he passed with flying stars.
It was announced that the AIA has established The C. Brian Rose Fellowship Fund to support Brian’s commitment to provide opportunities for scholarly research and international exchange, a cause he championed during his presidency.
