The Friends of the Office of State Archaeology in Connecticut acted as a participating partner in National Archaeology Day by sponsoring an Archaeology Fair. The event was free and open to the public. On October 27, local archaeological societies, historical societies, and universities set up displays highlighting the archaeological work that is going on throughout the state. Short lectures included topics from the pre-contact, contact, and post-contact eras of Connecticut’s history. Donations were also accepted which will help support the work of the State Archaeologist. The goal of the Archaeology Fair was to raise awareness of archaeology in Connecticut.
