International Archaeology Day Collaborating Organization List Continues to Grow


The Friends of the Office of State Archaeology (CT), Shirley-Eustis House Association, Quincy Quarry and Granite Workers Museum, Arizona Preservation Foundation, Tubac Presidio State Historic Park, Tumacacori National Historical Park, Fort Daniel Historic and Archaeological Site, College of Charleston, Archaeology Club, the Brazoria County Historical Museum, and the Oshawa Community Museum have all joined International Archaeology Day 2013 as Collaborating Organizations. The Friends of the Office of State Archaeology in Connecticut will host an Archaeological Fair, involving numerous groups from the state. The Shirley-Eustis House will host archaeological and educational events throughout October. The Quincy Quarry and Granite Workers Museum will host a tour of a historic quarry with interpretive exhibits.  The Tubac Presidio State Park will offer a special tour of their sites and museum. The Fort Daniel Historic and Archaeological Site is hosting a “Historic Faire” with exhibits, activities, and music.  The College of Charleston will be hosting an Indiana Jones movie marathon and discussion of cinematic representations of Archaeology. The Brazoria County Historical museum will have a series of four speakers during October. Finally, the Oshawa Community Museum will be hosting a International Archaeology Day Event at the musuem in Ontario.
