We have spent the first quarter of this school year learning about the process of archaeological digs, including excavation, documentation, looking for sites, preservation, and the archaeology of the Southwest. We will be performing our very own dig for artifacts, provided to us through the work of another class at the school. These created “artifacts” will include mud bricks resembling the corner of a structure, coins, and pottery. Students will perform the dig with a variety of tools, and document findings.
