It is with great sadness that we must report that Lloyd E. Cotsen passed away yesterday. The AIA wishes to offer our deepest sympathy to all who were fortunate enough to count Mr. Cotsen as a friend and supporter. A former AIA Trustee, and recipient of the Martha and Artemis Joukowsky Distinguished Service Award, Mr. Cotsen has been a generous and long-time supporter of the organization’s programs and initiatives. In recent years, Mr. Cotsen provided grant funding for the Cotsen Excavation Program. This program provides two grants annually – one for a first time director launching a new project, and the second for any professional working in the field.
