Excavations began at Stonehenge in the mid-1600s; yet, this mysterious arrangement of megaliths remains an enigma. This presentation surveys how past and current archaeological discoveries have shaped our still-shifting perceptions of this ancient site.
Brandelyn Andres is a professor of art history at Yavapai College in Prescott. Initially trained as a postmodernist scholar, her early work concentrated on the strategy of appropriation as it related to the exclusionary nature of the art historical canon. However, since beginning work on her PhD at Arizona State University, she has shifted her research focus to studying the ancient world using feminist methodology.
