Located between Cuzco and Urubamba, Chinchero is likely a royal estate built by Inka Tupac Yupanqui. The colonial church, built in the early 17th century, is constructed on the foundations of a monumental Inka structure--a testament to the quality of engineering exhibited by the Inka.
