Bells Bend Park hosted its Annual Farm Day on National Archaeology Day. There were farm events which included a lecture on the ancient farmers of Tennessee by former State Archaeologist Nick Fielder. Topics included how to grow a “three sisters” vegetable garden, and the crops, tools, and growing techniques practiced by different Native American groups. For children there was a mock dig. Total visitation was 471 with dozens of participants at the lecture and over 50 kids at the mock dig.
