The Program in Archaeology and the Wooster branch of the Oberlin-Wooster Local Society hosted the 14th Annual Archaeology Day at the Lowry Center on the campus of the College of Wooster on October 19th. Students, faculty, and staff from the College visited the exhibits, along with people from the local community. The groups present included the Wayne County Historical Society, and the Wayne County Cemetery Preservation Society. There was also a flintknapping demonstration and the attendees could try their hand at making stone tools under the direction of the visiting expert. The Saturday event was followed on Monday, Oct. 21 by a public lecture delivered by Prof. David Freidel (Washington Univ., St. Louis) on his work at a Maya site in Guatemala featured in Archaeology magazine early in 2013.
