October 30, 2012
On October 20th, the University Of Colorado Museum Of Natural History teamed up with AIA Societies in Boulder and Denver, as well as the University of Colorado Departments of Classics and Anthropology to host an Archaeology Fair. These groups were joined by many others, including the Colorado Archaeological Society, History Colorado, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Egypt Study Society, PaleoResearch, and PaleoWest, to help celebrate National Archaeology Day. Family friendly activities included simulated dig, scarabs, weaving, pottery painting, and more. There were Gallery Tours led by Dr. Stephen Lekson. Lectures by Dr. Inga Calvin on “Maya 2012,” Dr. Tyler Lansford on the “Destruction of Rome,” and Dr. Stephen Lekson on “Mesa Verde” rounded out a fun filled day.
