The Friends of Dinosaur Ridge held an outdoor event on October 12 in conjunction with National Fossil Day, Earth Science Week, and International Astronomy Day in addition to International Archaeology Day. Roxborough State Park volunteers brought a wonderful booth presenting points and dendrochronology. In turn the Friends of Dinosaur Ridge took an archaeological booth to an excellent event at Roxborough State Park on October 19. They had several booths with interesting hands-on activities like grinding acorns on a matate and making paint brushes out of yucca. The 4 presenters learned a great deal about presenting archaeology to the public.
