The Archaeological Institute of America has established a permanent annual lecture in memory of Michel and Nelly Abemayor. The lecture was created in recognition of Mr. and Mrs. Abemayor’s lifelong interest and enjoyment in the study of ancient cultures.
The purpose of the Abemayor Lecture is to provide a forum for scholarly exchange of information and to promote greater understanding of ancient Egyptian civilization. The lecture encompasses topics pertaining to Egyptology, including art, archaeology, and related disciplines. It may also include topics related to Islamic art and archaeology.
The Abemayor Lecture is given annually at an active AIA Society. This lecture was generously funded by an anonymous donor.
