Archaeology Day at the BLM Campbell Creek Science Center

October 20, 2018 @ 10:00 am EDT

BLM Campbell Creek Science Center
4700 BLM Road
Anchorage, Alaska 99507 United States

Join the BLM and its partners to celebrate International Archaeology Day at the Campbell Creek Science Center! Learn all about archaeology with a variety of indoor and outdoor activities stations: learn how archaeologists map a prehistoric site (and try it out yourself!), learn to hunt using an atlatl and spear, make a Yupik style mask, learn how to identify animals from their bones, check out 3D modelling of artifacts and sites, and much more!  Please dress for the weather – outside activities will happen, rain (or snow!) or shine.

Thank you to all the partners who are making this possible: National Park Service, State of Alaska Office of History and Archaeology, Alaska Anthropological Association, Alaska Consortium of Zooarchaeologists, Anchorage Museum, UAA Department of Anthropology, and Cultural Alaska.

When placing events on your calendar using these buttons, please check that time zone displays correctly.
