Earth Science and Archaeology take center stage at the Museum on this special day. Bring in fossils, rocks, minerals and artifacts to be identified. Watch outdoor demonstrations and try primitive technologies. Adults can learn about Museum projects, excavations, field trips and volunteer opportunities. Meet Museum curators, guest scientists and others from regional institutions and organizations. Get information on related clubs and organizations and special opportunities to work with geologists, paleontologists and archaeologists.
Families will discover the science and fun of geology, paleontology and archaeology through exhibits and hands-on activities. Kid-friendly crafts will be featured, such as making a rubbing of a 300-million year old fern fossil to take home and frame.
This event is on International Archaeology Day and is part of Ohio Archaeology Month and National Earth Science Week.
