To celebrate and promote National Archaeology Day, the AIA-North Alabama Society co-sponsored an Archaeology Fair teaming up with the Cultural Resources staff at Redstone Arsenal as well as archaeologists from the Tennessee Valley Authority and Tennessee Valley Archaeological Research. The Fair included information about the AIA and local archaeology, there were also learning opportunities and hands-on activities for kids. Following the Archaeology Fair, a local archaeologist gave a lecture entitled, “Archaeology in Huntsville’s Backyard: Prehistoric Cultures of the Middle Tennessee Valley.”
