Grant and Award Deadline Extensions

The AIA offers a variety of scholarships, fellowships, and grants for excavation, research, publication, and site preservation. The Institute also presents a number of awards to archaeologists, educators, authors, and others whose work has had a positive impact on the field of archaeology. In light of the many changes and disruptions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the AIA is, when possible, extending the nomination and/or application deadlines for upcoming AIA grants and awards.  

Extended deadlines:

• The 2020 deadline to apply for the AIA’s Elizabeth Bartman Museum Internship has been extended to May 1st.

• The 2020 deadline for nominations for the AIA’s Anna Marguerite McCann Award for Fieldwork Reports has been extended to May 1st. 

• The 2020 deadline for nominations for the AIA’s Outstanding Public Service Award has been extended to May 1st. 

• The 2020 deadline for nominations for the AIA’s Pomerance Award for Scientific Contributions to Archaeology has been extended to May 1st. 

• The 2020 deadline to apply for the AIA’s Society Outreach Grant Program has been extended to May 6th.
