The Central Arizona Society of the AIA partnered with Pueblo Grande Museum in Phoenix, AZ for National Archaeology Day, and dozens of individuals became mudslingers for the day. Mudslinging is a stabilization technique for earthen structures, and it works well for Native American structures in the Southwest. Students from Paradise Valley Community College and Arizona State University (and their professors) joined the regular, volunteer mudslinging crew at Pueblo Grande to sling mud in order to preserve the platform mound.
