We’re reflecting 🪞 on International Archaeology Day 2023 a few months down the line, and want to thank everyone who participated in IAD this past year! Whether you ran an event or attended one, your passion for archaeology inspires us to keep holding IAD. We can’t wait until this October when we’ll have a whole fresh slate of activities and events for you to take part in.
In the meantime, feel free to watch Anne Austin’s AIA Archaeology Hour talk on the tattooed women of Ancient Egypt, which has over 1200 views since it was posted the week of IAD! You can also check out past Archaeodoodles entries; we had 30 fresh illustrations 🎨 submitted by people of all ages this round and added some of them to our glossary page.
Watch our collaborating organizations’ #ArchaeoStart videos on social media, including this Facebook reel from the Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre talking about the magic of fieldwork! Save the date 🗓️ for IAD 2024, coming Saturday, October 19 to archaeology fans everywhere.
